How to Cover Books in 2 Minutes

It’s almost school time! For sure, most of you are done buying school supplies for your kids including their school books and notebooks. Are you done covering them? If not, I’ll be sharing with you an easy way to cover them efficiently.

I lived during the Jurassic era, when my mom used to buy rolls of plastic covers and adhesive tapes to cover my books when I was a school girl. After which, spending HOURS to cover everything. YES, we do cover our books and notebooks. We wanted to make it presentable and preserve it for the entire school year (or even as reference for future use). Without book cover, we can call them brochures. LOL.

It was a little while back that I’ve found out that there are so-called contact book covers or adhesive book covers. I don’t know when this was invented but I just recently discovered about it…like a month ago. 🙂 So now, to those who haven’t heard it YET, allow me to share with you how cool it is.

So, here it is. I have bought it from National Bookstore for 120 pesos for 10 pcs. Not actually bad for a quite magic. LOL. The one I bought is a plain plastic adhesive cover, but if you can see at the right photo, there are a lot of designs that you can choose from (embossed).

Let’s get started with this very quick tutorial.

wp-1464620482324.jpg

Get a piece of contact book cover. Lay down the book and see how much adhesive book cover you have to cut.

wp-1464620493317.jpg

Detach the center part of the adhesive cover and stick it in the middle of the book as shown above. Then peel a small portion of the non-adhesive side in front and glide it across.

wp-1464620499547.jpg

DO NOT remove the entire non-adhesive part right away, otherwise, it may stick wrongly or with bubbles. Push the non-adhesive part by two hands or even one hand. Check out this short clip I did:

Cut the corners slanted/triangle and fold it inside. Flip the book and do the same thing on the other side. And it’s done!

wp-1464620503858.jpg

Now you can cover school books in no time! Really cool, isn’t it? 🙂

Strawberries and Cream Cupcakes by Maya Kitchen

Baking is a fun way to spend valuable time and bond with your kids. It’s an opportunity to share time, create delicious desserts and build memories with your little ones.

I’m so glad that the Maya Kitchen has collaborated with Mommy Bloggers Philippines. We got the chance to be part of mom and kid baking workshop at the Maya Kitchen Culinary Arts Center. My son and I had a very fun afternoon last Saturday. We both learned a lot from the workshop and I’m one of the proud moms because Aki made very delicious cupcakes at a young age of 5.

Now, I’ll be sharing with you the Strawberries and Cream Cupcakes that Aki baked. I hope you’ll enjoy baking together with your kids, most especially that bonding time with them is becoming more scarce because some of us are working moms and some are busy with other household tasks.

On Demand Professional Delivery Service with ETOBEE

As a mom, TIRED is just a word and not a hindrance to do everything that would make your children happy. You would do everything to provide their needs and wants. Literally, you want them to experience the things you were not able to experience when you were a kid. Agree?

I currently have a full-time job which pretty much supports our family “needs”. I also have some sidelines like retailing clothes online as additional income which supports our “wants”.

And since I sell online, I would need a reliable courier to deliver my product to my customers. Sometimes, it happens that customers get mad or upset if the products were not delivered on time especially if they need it urgently. I’ve been switching to different couriers who offer cheap delivery and at the same time very reliable when it comes to service.

Good thing, I was introduced to ETOBEE last Blogapalooza Business-to-Bloggers’ event. I had fun with their booth/games. I even won a mug as a simple souvenir!

So, what’s ETOBEE?

It’s an on demand professional delivery service in South East Asia. I’m glad they’re now here in the Philippines! What’s good about ETOBEE is that they have a thousand professional drivers (and counting) who are ready at your fingertips to delivery any items from extra small to extra large. Not only that, they offer same day or next day deliveries! So why wait for daaaaays when your customers can have the items in minutes?

There are a LOT of things to be happy about ETOBEE delivery service. With ETOBEE, you may select your driver based on their skills, ratings, price and speed. You can also delight your customers as they offer instant and real-time tracking of all your delivered items. From there, you can optimize your customer experience, thus, SELL MORE!

I’ve downloaded their app and saw how user-friendly it is, very easy to understand and follow.

  • EASY – within seconds, you can book and track all your needs, all you want.
  • SPEED – get everything the soonest.
  • RELIABLE – there’s a lot of professional drivers ready to serve you on demand.
  • TRACK – find out the EXACT location of your delivery in real-time.

The app includes:

  1. Booking
  2. Live tracking
  3. Driver’s details
  4. Delivery time
  5. Package size selection
  6. Verified digital signature

Aside from these, you can also leave a personal message (type it from the app) for your recipient and they’ll deliver it, too!

ETOBEE delivers a completely NEW experience for the users, both seller and buyer. Try it and download the app today!

*Note: As of the moment they offer services to Manila, Cavite and Laguna.

The Sound of Music: Classical Music takes Center Stage in Marinduque’s 3rd Annual “Musika sa Isla”

BOAC, MARINDUQUE—Symphonies are due to wake the sleepy town of Boac, Marinduque as the city holds its third “Musika sa Isla,” the country’s only classical music festival, on May 18, 19, and 21. Premier musicians from Asia are gracing the three-day event.

Musika sa Isla” gathers a diverse roster of musical talents, ranging from pianists to seasoned singers. This year, Franz Chen of Indonesia and Tomoyo Kobayashi from Japan are playing the piano. Japan’s Kazuki Yamamoto is the festival’s lone violinist, while Ivan Jenzer is representing the Philippines on the cello. Filipino soprano singer Arlene Escultero and baritone singer Joseleo Logdat are joining as well.

The festival will take place in the capital’s storied attractions. On May 18, the International Concert starts at 6 p.m. at the St. Raphael Parish. On May 19, the Grand Gala starts at 6 p.m. at the Boac covered court. Watch out for the additional concert on May 21 at the Moriones Arena and Park.

But the better news is, good music is finally affordable. Tickets sell for P200 for each event; students even get 50% off for one.

“Musika sa Isla” is set in the quaint but bustling city of Boac in Marinduque province. The heart-shaped island takes pride in its scenic landscape, rustic charm, and other natural wonders. Its near zero-crime crate and impressive agri-based economy are attracting curious wanderers as Marinduque poises itself as a budding tourist destination. Once dubbed as the country’s “forgotten paradise,” it’s time for us to remember the beauty we’ve always had, the beauty we need to recognize. An easy bus trip away, JAC Liner even includes the RORO pass with their advanced reservations now available online.

The third annual classical music festival is supported by AGREA Philippines, a local social enterprise that hopes to revitalize agriculture in the island of Marinduque.

Steinway Boutique Manila, in partnership with BDO Private Bank, is proud to present the 3rd Philippine Steinway Youth Piano Competition where young pianists aged 17 and below gather in an evening of music. After the evening’s performances, only one will be selected by a panel of internationally acclaimed judges as the Philippine representative to the Steinway Regional Finals Asia Pacific, and will be hailed as the grand prize winner. From there, the winner will further compete with the representatives of participating countries—Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore,South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam—for a spot at the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany.
