James Deakin is a man who wears many hats. Who doesn’t recognize him? He’s a TV anchor, event host, motoring advocate, blogger, and social media personality. But with his multifaceted persona and the hectic schedule that he keeps, it’s his being a family man, a loving husband and father to three kids, two boys and a girl, that he values the most. It is no wonder then that Technomarine chose to honor James, a truly exemplary dad, this Father’s Day.
“Time, it’s the most precious commodity,” Deakin relates when asked about the biggest challenge of being a father. “The harder you work, the more successful you become, the more time becomes precious. So it gets very hard to find that balance.”
His daily schedule can become as erratic as the next, starting as early as 5 am. As someone who doesn’t keep a regular office job, making time for his family is indeed a challenge, one that he doesn’t back down from. But there are compromises, he admits, especially since he has to work to earn a living for his wife and his growing brood.

“I’m getting old.” *sad*
I’ve been suffering from lots and lots of different ailments these past few months. Two of my major complaints are from my head and back.
Then I came across a “to-the-rescue” product at the department store in SM City Molino. It’s Relief Hot Compress. Hmmm, interesting!
The product costs Php 199 if you have an SM Advantage Card. However, if you don’t have one, I am not sure if it’s Php 399 or Php 499…but somewhat in that price range. Price-wise, it’s pretty amazing with an SM advantage card. Alright, let’s proceed with my honest review…
I bought the colored brown hot compress. It looks like a pillow but feels and looks like a stuff toy. It’s very handy, easy to bring anywhere. It has liquid inside. I am not sure if it’s water or any other liquid. I haven’t mentioned it yet, but, it’s an electronic hot compress. So, from the word “electronic” itself, I’m sure you get an idea or first impression that it’s rechargeable. If that’s what you think, YOU GET IT RIGHT! It’s very fast and convenient than the traditional heat compress. I think you only recharge it for about 10 minutes. Just plug it and wait for the indicator light to turn off then you can readily use it. This electronic heat compress helps a lot with relaxation. To be fair, it retains the heat for 30-40 minutes. It good enough to provide short term relief to your backache, dysmenorrhea or sore muscles.
There’s no need to worry about spilling. I’ve been using this product for more than 1 month now and I never experienced spilling of the the liquid inside. I’ve only found two disadvantage of this product:
- It smells a lot of burnt electric wire right after recharging. Sometimes, that bad odor lasts for 5-10 minutes.
- You cannot control the temperature.
This is my short/simple review. So far, it does its job very well. I can give you an update after a few more months upon using this product.
