Treat your Kids to a #PrimeSummer Experience with Easy to Prepare Corn Ice Pops

Summer has always been the perfect season for the ultimate family bonding experience, especially since the kids are on vacation. While you may plan and do a lot of summer activities, there are some activities at home, which can let you have a #PrimeSummer experience.

One of the activities that your kids will surely enjoy is to let them help you in preparing some fun and exciting summer refreshments. It allows them to learn new stuff while satisfying your family’s cravings for cool drinks and snacks, as a way to beat the summer heat.

If there’s one thing that kids will truly enjoy this summer, it’s the delectable corn ice pops. These are easy to make, especially with the easy-to-open Mega Prime corn can.

The original recipe that we saw is using Mega Prime Cream Style Corn but my kids preferred to use Mega Prime Whole Kernel Corn instead because they want it more chunky to bite.

#Recipe of the Day: Pansit Habhab

Pansit habhab is the ALL-TIME favorite merienda of people living in Quezon province particularly in Lucban and Lucena City. Yes, I am a certified Lucenahin!

Pansit habhab is basically made of dried flour noodles. It’s our own type of miki. It is thin and brown in color. This is popularly served in Buddy’s Restaurant (Sponsor please, haha!) and in Lucban or Lucena, pansit habhab are being sold in streets or peddled around the area.

This is usually eaten without any utensils. It is served in a banana leaf and then you eat it directly from that. When you say habhab that means to eat suctioning the food like pigs. Yes, you read it right. Hahaha!

#Recipe of the Day: Stir-Fried Spinach

Here’s another healthy and delicious recipe that you can prepare for your family or for your “balik-alindog” project. It can be served with meat or fish as a side dish.

What you’ll need:

5 slices bacon, chopped

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp minced garlic

1 onion, chopped

3 bags baby spinach leaves

salt and pepper to taste

hard boiled eggs/quail eggs (optional)

Procedure:

  1. Heat the pan over medium heat. Fry the bacon until crispy. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter. Sauté garlic and onion.
  3. Add the spinach and bacon. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Serve with chopped hard boiled eggs or quail eggs.

Another option is to add sliced shiitake mushroom or sliced button mushroom. You can serve this with fried fish or roasted pork and rice, or bread.

During the event, a live cooking demonstration and cook-off was facilitated by Chef Mcrhyan Rodrigo. Chef Mac cooked Filipino favorites Ginisarsayang Kangkong with Tokwa and his own recipe, Thai Style Stir Fried Chicken using Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce. Guests were also invited to participate in a cook-off, where they discovered the convenience using Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce to turn ordinary dishes extra special and flavorful.

 

No less than than the Primetime King, Mr. Coco Martin, was chosen to endorse Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce. Aside from being a big fan of his grandmother’s cooking, Coco graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
